6 years of Holly

Holly will be 6 tomorrow.

Really??? REALLY??? How can that be? It seems like just yesterday I was surprising my mom by handing her a Christmas card that said "Merry Christmas! Love, Adam, Lisa and Baby"

Six years has gone by so fast.

I feel so blessed that Holly has had a happy and healthy six years. I pray she'll have many, many, many more.

happy daddy's day!

We headed to the very wet state of Iowa to watch an IA Cubs game on Father's Day.

{ Highlights from the game, courtesy of Aunt Becky's blog. }

"Hey, #22"
Being in the sky box, we were very close to the center fielder. Wesley spent a few innings hollering at the Nashville center fielder, Tony Gwynn Junior. He would yell, "Hey #22, catch that ball!" Tony replied with an "Okay, buddy!" The next ball that came to the outfield was caught, then Wesley's new favorite player, "#22" turned and tossed the ball up to him! Adam caught the ball, gave it to Wesley, then stopped him just in time from throwing it right back out on the field.

"Where's the hot dog?"
Today's game was a double header, so we got to enjoy twice the fun! During the first game when the truck drove around shooting hot dogs into the stands, we were lucky enough to catch a hot dog. Imagine our surprise when we opened up the package and found a hot dog bun only. That's right -- the hot dog was missing! Holly and Wesley decided that it must be Bob's fault. Lo and behold, when the hot dog gun came around the second game, we caught another one. I have never seen a kid so excited to open up a wrapped up hot dog as Wesley was! We were happy to find a bun AND a hot dog in this one!

"A new shirt"
As hot dogs were flying through the air, there was also a truck that drove by shooting t-shirts into the air. Holly got one, it turned out to be a kid's size shirt! So both kids got to go home with great souvenirs from the game -- Holly got a new t-shirt, and Wesley had his baseball.

weekend in the ville

We headed to Maryville to play golf this past weekend. Adam leaves on his annual golf trip on Wednesday so this weekend's practice was crucial to his security in grasping the HSI trophy. It's been a few years since he's brought it home so we're all keeping our fingers crossed. I don't think Adam feels too confident though. Nick plays everyday and JJ belongs to a golf course. I think he's just hoping to beat Powell. We'll see.

The most entertaining part of the weekend was watching Adam and Donna play a little 1 on 1. Very funny.
